The Blue Iceberg and H2O Emergencias

 

THE BLUE ICEBERG, 2013.

As a part of the "H2O Emergencias" workshop,

I was working on The Blue Iceberg project together with

Alba Escayo and Tze Toh.  Our project was inspired by the GLACKMA 

proyect and the blue glacier colour.

 We were treating the water issues through painting

with coloured ice cubes.  Basicly we wanted to reduce

the intervention on the painting by hands to a minimum.

The idea was to leave the ice on the paper to melt and

create his own lines and ways.

The aim of The Blue Iceberg project is to continue the collaboration of the artists all around the world.  This first attempt resulted in a collaboration of Alba Escayo (Spain), Tze Toh (Singapore) and Ana Zdravković (Serbia).  The result consists of 3 paintings on paper and a video of the performance - the ice melting.

The video of the performance was made in collaboration with a composer Tze Toh, the award winning pianist, who helped us with his beautiful music.

H2O EMERGENCIAS

Art and Science Dialogues

12th -15th November 2013

      Last October I have taken part at the workshop coordinated by Esther Moñivas and Vicedecanato de Extensión Universitaria, at the Faculty of Fine Arts, UCM.  The aim of this workshop was to foster new artistic projects related to water, and to open a dialogue between art and science and promote new synergies between these two fields of knowledge.

      "The Blue Iceberg" project came up as a result of this workshop where I was collaborating with Alba Escayo.  It was inspired by the GLACKMA proyect and the blue, blue colour of the glaciers.  We are treating the water issues through painting with ice cubes.

      "The Blue Iceberg" was one of the selected projects for the upcoming exhibition at the Faculty of Fine Arts, UCM.  It will also be posted on the site of  The Art|Sci Center, dedicated to collaborations between  arts and sciences.

Máster en Investigación en Arte y Creación - The Final Thesis Defense

     The final exhibition and defense of my thesis directed by professor Maria Cuevas Riaño at the Complutense University in Madrid, on 11th September 2013.

     My thesis concerns the forms of nature and construction of its inner world, which is hardly visible to us.  The subject imerges inspired by the existence of the Japaneese Beetle and its interventions on the leaves.  The changes caused by it`s action raise different concepts related to the life of the human beings, such as identity, time, transformation and the relation between the processes of construction and destruction.

 

                   

                     

                     

THE WALL OF EUROPE - The Urban Art Workshop, San Sperate, Sardinia, Italy

"The Wall of Europe" is an urban art workshop held from 15th till 26th June, 2013.
I was one of the 22 selected artists.
